Bottom Line: An amazing app that covers letters, phonics, numbers, shapes, colors and counting for 99 cents.
A toddler's interaction with the iPhone and iPad should graduate to a program like Teach Me: Toddler as quickly as possible. The app asks multiple-choice questions and presents the right and wrong answers (in a very gentle, Mimi-Mouse way), rewards the child with stickers for correct answers, and allows a parent/teacher to track how well they are doing...down to the specific letter.
I rated Teach Me: First Grade a five-star app and Teach Me: Toddler, which costs just 99 cents, is the same program targeted for a different age group, and equally as good. The categories covered in Toddler are letters, ABC phonics, numbers, shapes, colors and counting. After a certain number of right answers (chosen in the settings), the child receives a sticker to add to a scene.
TeachMe: Toddler records a child's results so that weak areas can be identified. For example, if your toddler is having trouble identifying the letter "J" you can see, in the scoring section, how many times they were asked each letter and how many times they got each right and wrong.
TeachMe: Toddler lack some of the energy I look for in preschool apps, but makes up for it in so many other places.
