In Hop 2 It, children control a bunny who jumps over decorated eggs when the screen is pressed. With each successful jump, the app counts upward and displays the appropriate number. The app costs 99 cents for both the iPhone and iPad.
There's nothing really wrong with Hop 2 It. It looks nice and plays smoothly. There's just not much to it and not enough, based on what else in on the market for that price and age group, for me to recommend. Apps like Teach Me: Toddler and TallyTots Pocket are available for the same price.
The app also needs to develop itself a bit more, even if it wants to stay simple. Lily is solid in counting up to around 12 for example, so it would be nice if I could start her at a later level and keep building from there. As it is, the child has to start at zero every new game. There are also no settings, name entry or other features.
There is a free trial if you'd like to check it out.
