In Jungle Math Bingo children solve math problems and click on the answer on their bingo card in order to try to get five in a row for a BINGO!
Bingo is generally played with at least a fairly large group of people, but the excitement of getting a bingo (and being able to yell it) certainly seems to carry over to the one-player version for my kids. “I’ve got a wait...BINGO!”
The app has a very clean and easy interface and plays a nice steel-drum jungle tune during play. The bingo markers are five different kinds of jungle animals.
There are two changes I would make to the app, however. First, in the division section, the problems are presented in this form (?/3=15). The mental math technique needed to complete that problem is to multiply 15*3, which means more multiplication practice rather than division. Second, I would add a “best times,” similar to what NxtApp 4 Kids has, so children can start each game knowing what time they are trying to beat.
Math Bingo is better app, but Jungle Math Bingo, developed by Apps For Kids, is still a nice game at a great price (99 cents.)
It also serves as another reminder why you need to find a good review site that you trust. On iTunes, Jungle Math Bingo has six reviews and five of them are just one star, which is crazy.
