World of Safari 123 (99 cents for both iPad and iPhone)) is a terrific gem of an app that teaches basic math skills while allowing children to build their own safari park.
Part of the greatness of the app is that, through its difficulty and hint settings, it effectively targets an audience that spans from children who are learning to count to those who can complete advanced work, such as 1+?+4=7, so
Lily and E both thoroughly enjoyed it. E played it until he unlocked all of the animals on the hard setting and kept playing after that.
Please note, younger players will need some help with the setup and have to press the hint button in order to practice counting.
World of Safari 123 is the perfect marriage of entertainment and education. The animals are divided into levels and the player can't unlock the "cooler" animals (like giraffes, elephants and lions) until they get through the first few levels. Children also have a limited number of safari decorations, such as trees, flowers, etc. to personalize their safari and the better ones of those are only available after completing all five levels of quizzes.
The app also tracks the number of correct and wrong answers for each skill level. World of Safari 123 is a must-download app if your child is working on counting, math and/or subtraction.
