The game can be played in any of four languages (English, German, Spanish, French) or all four combined, which is quite a unique feature and one that might be interesting for some adults. There is a timer, which can be set for one, three or five minutes and the app records the highest scores.
There is also a LARGE picture dictionary where the child can press on an image (all well-done illustrations), see its spelling in all four languages and choose to hear it spoken in any of the four. Favorite pictures/words can be saved.
The roots are here for a really good app, but it needs several updates/changes.
First, the narration is not great, especially the English and German speakers, who are especially boring. This is a kids' app and the narration needs to get their attention! Second, the dictionary lists all four languages, even if you change the settings to just one. So, when my daughter plays with it (only learning to read English) all four of the languages pop up, rendering the dictionary aspect essentially unusable because she doesn't know what language to press.
Third, the app needs to do more when the child gets the words correct in the game section. As it is now, stars appear but there is no congratulatory noise or narration at all. Finally, the saved favorites section would be better as a "words the child missed" section for additional study/play.
There's more, but I think you get the idea. There's a lot of upside here, but wait until there are some revisions.
