Today's Good Free App of the Day is an app I personally use every day and, according to the developer, is "the most downloaded news app ever." It's more of an adult app, but can certainly be used (with supervision) by children.
With Pulse, you create your own visual stream of "news" pages, but your news doesn't have to be politics or world affairs, it can be ANY subject or subjects you want to follow as long as it has RSS feeds associated with it, and almost web sites have RSS feeds.
Want to follow the latest educational app news? How about low-salt cooking recipes? Why not make a page for movie reviews? What about walruses? Pulse is completely customizable.
Let's say you wanted to create a page or pages for education. You search for your favorite education web sites within the app and click plus for each one to add it. Then, every time you open the app, it automatically updates all the "news" from those sites into boxes on your Pulse pages. Each box contains a title and small amount of text so you can decide what you want to read quickly and easily.
The app is easy to use and allows you to review info from a large number of sites very quickly. It's one of my favorites.
