Earlier today, I was working through my inbox and found a message from a developer letting me know that their app was free for a limited time.
"Dang it! I missed this one," I thought. "And it sounds good."
A quick check of the iTunes store revealed that it was still free...
I downloaded the app and tried it and it is great app, allowing kids to learn writing in cursive by using shaving cream, lime jello and other assorted funtastic things.
"Dang again!" I thought. "We should have featured this one and it's going to go non-free at any moment."
So, I replied to the good people at Fizzbrain, asking if they could keep the app free for another 24 hours for our fans and they said yes!
So here is Cursive Touch and Write! Get it now!
Kids love learning to write cursive - especially when they can use shaving cream, paint, and jello! "Cursive Touch and Write" was developed by real classroom teachers, and recreates the fun and effective teaching strategy used in classrooms every day: learning writing with shaving cream, jello, finger paint, and more!
Note: This is an introduction to cursive letter writing - children will practice INDIVIDUAL cursive letters to achieve mastery - then the app connects the letters for them, as can be seen in the screen shots. "Cursive Touch and Write" also allows you to create your own lists of names and words so that you can individualize the learning experience!
FEATURES:
✰Comes with 16 different writing textures: shaving cream, ketchup, lime gelatin, chocolate frosting, chalk, pencil, blue pen, lemon gelatin, chocolate pudding, syrup, grape jelly, whipped cream, pumpkin pie, red paint, and vanilla pudding!
✰Comes with 28 different writing papers, including 4 different line patterns children are most likely to find in real classrooms, food papers, animal papers, nature papers, and more!
✰Children can practice writing their own names and individualized word lists
✰Comes with the following word lists: ABC Countries of the World (and 1 City), 50 States, The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog, ABC Words, Palindromes, Alphabet Letters, Numbers – and of course you may add as many of your own lists as you like!
✰As children write, their actual letter formation is displayed next to a standard letter, so children can compare and work to improve their cursive
✰Brief reward at the end of each word reinforces learning and motivates children, without becoming a distraction
✰Created by real elementary teachers – based on best teaching practices!
Please contact us at fizzbrain@gmail.com with any questions, problems, or suggestions. We will get right back to you – we listen to our customers! And if you have additional textures or papers you would like to see included in an update, let us know!

Every day we pick what we affectionately call the Good Free App of the Day, an app that we have downloaded, tested and certified: It can't have a ton of ads or just a little content with a ton of in-app purchases.
It also has to be good.
We then present them to you to read, download, and share so, based on which ones got the most hits, here are your Top 75 Favorite Free Apps!
We've done our best to only include apps that are permanently free, but sometimes developers do change their minds so please leave a comment if you find an app that's no longer free.
