SoundingBoard, an app from developer AbleNet, has gone free! It's normally $44.99!
I haven't spent much time with the app, but it allows for the addition and customization of new boards with your own images/text/sounds so it has a lot of potential functionality. It's a native iPhone app, but works fine x2 on the iPad.
I could not find any info as to how long it's free. SoundingBoard includes 14 boards and does have in-app purchases for additional ones.
