Today I have FOUR codes for AutisMate, an app I am really excited about. This app could make a huge difference to many families' lives.
The app focuses on communication, behaviour and social skills. There is the fully customizable AAC with 12,000 loaded symbols. There is the option also to use GPS to load symbols specific to the user's environment, which I thought was incredibly clever.
You can also use video-modeling in the app to focus on certain skills or to add in to a social story to demonstrate a routine.
So many areas and details have been thought of. I particularly liked the fact that you can use multi-varied recordings to promote generalisation. And it's user-friendly which is a must for me, otherwise I get a bit cranky and disheartened.
If you would like to win this app, please comment below and tell me why. Winners will be chosen randomly and posted on August 5th, EST 4pm, U.S.
You can explore the app further at www.autismate.com and if you would like to purchase it straightaway, please use this button to do so.

★ The communication and learning platform designed specifically for autism ★
AutisMate's scene-based approach to delivering therapy is more effective and easier to understand for those with autism than traditional grid-based augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools. Hierarchal grid-based AAC was developed for a variety of communication disabilities and requires generalization, categorization and complex navigation that can be very difficult for autistic learners.
AutisMate integrates applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies such as video-modeling and social stories to promote behavior and social skills. In minutes, caregivers can now share a view of the world around them, by using their own pictures, videos, and voice recordings that can be taken right from your iPad. These familiar scenes make it easier to share experiences with individuals on the spectrum and build communication skills, functional skills, routines, social skills, and anything else you can imagine!
----------KEY FEATURES--------------
➤ Easily customizable scene-based AAC for autism
AutisMate’s visual approach to AAC allows caregivers to create contextual environments of a user that are more intuitive to learn than hierarchal grid-based AAC. In just a few minutes, caregivers can easily upload their own custom videos, images and audio. In addition, AutisMate comes fully loaded with synthesized voice and a library of over 12,000 symbols at your disposal.
➤ Integrated video-modeling
Video-modeling allows children to model functional skills or appropriate behavior in day-to-day real life situations. Create your own videos and simply add to a contextual scene or social story to teach routines, social behavior, independence and much more…
➤ GPS-enabled
AutisMate simplifies the navigation process by using relatable scenes taken from the user’s everyday environment. Scenes can be tied to the app’s physical location and only load those relevant spaces from for example a user’s home or school.
➤ Social stories for routine, functional or social skill development
Social stories are an effective way to present information on social situations in a structured and effective manner. Social stories can be integrated into relatable scenes, resulting in a powerful teaching tool where Autistic users can explore, learn and practice through pictures, video and text without the possible stresses of the social situation itself.
➤ Multi-variation recordings for generalization
Teachers and parents can set multiple variations of a certain phrase to the same picture in order to promote generalization. For example, one time a button may say, “I would like to have some orange juice?”, while another time it may say, “May I have some orange juice please?”
➤ E-mail content sharing
Share fully customized scenes with images, video and audio recordings with easy to use iPad to iPad content sharing. With just one click, teachers can share scenes with parents and vice versa.
➤ Custom word boards
Multi-touch gestures allow caregivers to move or hide the pictures/symbols of word boards during therapy while preventing children from doing the same. This is commonly done while teaching receptive language to ensure children learn the words for pictures/symbols rather than just their location.

I'd like to win this as a Speech-Language Pathologist so I could use it with my students.

I'd like to win as I am an ABA therapist constantly looking for Apps for the students I work with. I hate having families purchase Apps unless I feel we are really going to use them. Similarly, I have to be selective as to what I purchase. I am very interested in video modeling and social stories so find this App has potential.

I work in a preschool dev. center with 65 children with developmental delays (Motor, communication, sensory and cognitive.I'v seen this app and think it will suit many of our children, especially the customizable relatable scene-based AAC. We work with children from many different cultures and languages so it can be recorded in Arabic, Hebrew and Russian.

I would love to win this app! Excited for the school year to begin, with six new students coming in, five with ASD. This app would get a workout! It would give parents the opportunity to see the app in use. Even heading to a video modeling workshop /conference at the end of this weekend, so I can learn to use the full benefits of VM in the classroom....

Hi. I work as a speech language therapist in a special education presschool. The app looks like it can open doors to so many of the children that I work with on a daily basis. I use my own iPad with many of my children on the spectrum and am always looking for new and innovative therapy tools. If the app is as great as the reviews I could recommend that the school purchase it as well.

My 16 year old son with autism would, I believe, benefit greatly from the video modeling and the option to use GPS for "real-world" photos. My 20 year old with Down syndrome would be able to use it to work on her transition skills. I saw the app at the ASA conference this weekend and loved it!

My older son was recently dx with asperger's and my youngest (4) was dx with classic autism. These apps would greatly help our communication and bonding together. This journey has just begun for our family and have no way to pay for any therapies.

We currently have 14 year old twin boys who are both on the autism spectrum. This App could provide much needed support to the one who has STARTED talking and the other one who is trying to attend mainstream classes with an aid. The App looks like and invaluable tool for ALL!
