Today, I'm starting a series of Top Picks giveaways. Some of the apps that have garnered our prestigious, high star ratings are up for grabs!
And I'm kicking off with THREE codes for Comprehension TherAppy.
I'm very excited about all of this Top Picks malarkey so instead of babbling nonsensically I'm going to leave the description of this app up to the very wise and insightful views of both Deanne and Heather, who gave this app 4 and a half stars!
Please read their review here to see if this is an app you could put to good use.

You can also try this app for free by clicking the button and downloading Language TherAppy Lite, which is a 4 in 1 trial version of Tactus Therapy's language apps.
*From iTunes*
Comprehension TherAppy targets auditory and reading comprehension of single words. Designed to help people with receptive dysphasia and alexia, it is also a valuable tool to treat attention and other cognitive deficits. 3 user-friendly modes include Listen, Read, and Listen&Read to target individualised goals. The app automatically adjusts difficulty based on performance, allowing for independent massed practise. Built-in scoring and a results summary that can be e-mailed to the therapist in copy&paste report format makes therapy easy! Over 500 nouns, 100 verbs, and 100 adjectives with full-colour photographs, recorded voice, and clear text.
**Watch a VIDEO DEMONSTRATION of this app on our website: www.tactustherapy.com/comprehension.html **

- "Listen": match an auditory stimulus (spoken word) to a picture
- "Read": match a written stimulus (printed word) to a picture
- "Listen & Read": match an auditory stimulus (spoken word) to a written word
Over 700 clear full-colour photographs selected by a Speech-Language Therapist included in the app.
10 categories of nouns including animals, foods, objects, concepts, places, people, body parts and more; select which category or categories to target!
Select from 2, 3, 4, or 6 photos on the screen or use the "Auto" feature to automatically adjust the field size based on performance
3 levels of difficulty adjust the relatedness of foils (semantic and phonemic) to move from Easy to Hard
Aphasia-friendly interface avoids use of professional jargon and features clear symbols for independent use
Child-friendly mode eliminates references to alcohol and violence and blocks access to social media and other outside links on the home screen
Real recorded voice provides 3 choices of languages with neutral accent in slow, natural speech for easy comprehension in English (US/Canada), English (UK), French, and Spanish
Client can initiate a repetition of the stimulus as they need it in “Listen” and “Listen&Read” modes
Smooth and automatic transitions to the next set allow for multiple repetitions in far less time than it takes to select and lay out photo flash cards
Automatic scoring tracks success and progress on-screen
Results can be e-mailed in table and report-ready format so clients can keep their therapist informed of their progress and therapists can send results to themselves for charting later, using the copy-and-paste ready format to decrease documentation time

This is what I have been looking for for my son. Aiden lost his speech at 18 months. With the help of wonderful teachers and awesome apps, his speech has been improving, but not to the point of back and forth conversation nor Q&A's. His sentences are limited to maybe 3 words now. We can use all the help we can find. Thank you for this offer.

This would be a great app for Mathieu. He is 16 and his speech is rough around the edges and his reading is nonexistent. Part of his IEP involves using iPad apps to help with this. I think this app is right up his alley from the trial I downloaded. :)

I believe this app would be great for my Autistic son, who also has Apraxia. Apraxia isn't listed in the apps description (likely should be?) and I believe this would be great for him. He loves other apps that say the words and interacts similar to this one, although this app appears to be much more in depth and we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to use and allow him to learn pronunciation and to practice use of so many new words. Thank you.

this app would be great for my son who has speech delays. He loves the iPad, so he will love this app and I will love that he is learning new things! I also teach young readers and any chance they get to use the iPad - they jump at it. I love that it is based on the individual needs and keeps track!
