*UPDATED*
I shared earlier today that Jellytoons Toddler Skills: Bobo's Birthday Challenge had gone free. Well, it turns out that developer Mindshapes has, for a limited time, made an additional two apps free so I've updated the post to include all three!
*PLEASE NOTE* - when you first go into all three apps, you do see an ad for Magic Town, Mindshapes' book store app. It only seems to pop up when you first enter the app however. Secondly, all three apps have a More Apps button that takes you directly to iTunes.
Jellytoons Toddler Skills - Bobo's Birthday Challenge
Bobo is a small, red, triangle-shaped and hyperactive character with over-sized eyes. It's also his birthday. Before giving him his presents, his friends would like to play some party games with him. The six games are nice and short and at the end of each one, the child gets to choose a present. The games focus on fine motor, matching, sorting, shape and number recognition and critical thinking skills. Once all the games are complete then Bobo and his friends go into the present room and the party commences.
It's cute, colorful, age appropriate and right now, it's free.

Tap A Tune
This app is typically free to download but with an in-app purchase for Holiday songs. When I downloaded the app today it came with the Holiday songs included. There are 7 nursery rhymes and 9 Christmas tunes to play. The app can be used in 3 modes - Baby (the child just touches an animal and a song plays), Freestyle (the child can compose their own tune) and Play. In Play mode the child touches the animals in the order they pop up in order to play a song. There are lots of different musical instruments to choose from as well as animal sounds. Not many apps give you the option to play Once in Royal David's City in oinks and baas.If you would like to download Tap A Tune (FREE, iPad/iPhone) please support Smart Apps for Kids by using this link button:
Lingo Zoo
This one has been on my wish list since it came out and as soon as I downloaded the app, both of my boys started to play it. If you have kids that like animals and puzzles, this is a must-download. The first environment is a farm and as the child completes the puzzles they hear and see the names of the animals in both English and Spanish. Once all the animals in that environment are done, another one is onlocked - there are 7 in total.

** Only the app's developer can control when an app is free or not. All apps that we post as Good Free Apps of the Day are verified to be free at the time of this post. We make no guarantees otherwise. **
****
Every day we pick what we affectionately call the Good Free App of the Day, an app that we have downloaded, tested and certified: It can't have a ton of ads or just a little content with a ton of in-app purchases.
It also has to be good.
We then present them to you to read, download, and share and, based on which ones got the most hits, here are your Top 100 Favorite Free Apps!
We've done our best to only include apps that are permanently free, but sometimes developers do change their minds so please leave a comment if you find an app that's no longer free.
Enjoy!
