I'm going to take today's GFAOTD in a bit of a different and cool direction with an app for older kids or adults. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 is an amazing bit of value. It presents the full game, that might cost $50 on an XBox or PS3, for free on the iPad and iPhone.
And yes I do understand if you don't wish to support Tiger Woods in any way.
How could a game like this be free? Well, EA Sports wants everyone to download the app, get addicted to it and spend money on the in-app purchases. BUT you can earn everything that's in the in-apps just by playing the game, getting good at it and earning money in the PGA Tour events. They're betting on people's impatience, peeps.
It's a terrific game though and if you want to get older kids or adults a great app for free, this is one you should download. Just tell the kids that they have to earn their own tour money, not buy it using the real stuff.
