We didn't celebrate Halloween where I grew up, so perhaps I can answer this with what I dressed up my oldest when he was little? His first ever costume was Winnie the Pooh. :-)

Melissa

I was a scarecrow in 2nd grade, complete with the stick across my back, elbow to elbow...made collecting candy a little tricky!

Julie-Anne McCarthy

I dressed up as forty coats one year and slightly bonkers another year lol.

Elena

A butterfly!

LB

a princess of course!

Angie

The most uncomfortable costume I ever had was when my mom made me a Raggedy Ann costume, which was fine, until I put on the wig. It was heavy and itchy. Of course, she and the neighbor crafted together, so the neighbor's son and I got to go to school together as Raggedy Ann and Andy. Even in kindergarten....not fun, and itchy!

Debbie

I dressed as granny, on the Beverly Hillbillies one year, boy am I dating myself!

JenRay

My mom made me a really cute clown costume one year. I always had homemade costumes, and was a bit jealous of the kids with plastic masks from Payless. Until I had one!

Rebecca W.

I was (my first costume) "Casper the Friendly Ghost". That dates me, doesn't it.? LOL
