Today's second GFAOTD from SumProduct LLC was developed right in my Orlando backyard and is for young brainiacs or any aspiring kids ages 10 and up. It's like the super popular Words With Friends except instead of filling the board with a series of four letter words, players make mathematical equations. And if you are short on friends or friends willing to expose their intellectual inferiority, have no fear, playing alone is just as fun and challenging. ~ Jill
You may download the challenging Math With Your Friends (Free iPhone only, $.99 in-app for additional board layouts) using this handy link:
I was absolutely an ace Scrabble player so this game was right up my alley. My son Kyle is in 5th grade and this is just the sort of pre pre-algebra they do. Make sure you apply the Please My Dear Aunt Sally rules for the order of operations or you'll not add up. My best single score so far was 57 points. The app keeps score automatically which is nice and keeps things fair since I was inclined to boost my score for a feeble 2+1=3 effort that netted only 6 points.
Games can be carried on with friends in distant places through the magic of social media. Also, you can have multiple different games in progress at one time. Be advised that on-line play is ad supported, but local games appear to be ad-free and safe for use by all children.
This app makes a great station for math rotations at schools and a constructive time passer for those days leading up to Christmas break when kids have pretty much given up on school.
Math With Your Friends is the the best way to show your friends that you're smarter than them!
MWYF is a FREE new game and a different kind of challenge!
Instead of letters, tiles show numbers (0-9) and operators (+ - x ÷ =). Instead of words, players make equations to score points. Increase your score by taking advantage of multipliers on the game board.
Chat and social network friendly
Play up to 30 games at once, at your own pace
Multiple game boards to choose from
Math is the universal language, play with friends or random players around the world
Fun and challenging for all ages
