Peapod Labs have given us a number of Good Free Apps of the Day recently. Today's GFAOTD is another app from this developer, ABC Play, part of their Little Explorer series.
This app teaches children about all sorts of different types of sports and activities through pictures and videos. I have no idea how long it's free so download it now!
If you'd like to download ABC Play (FREE iPhone/iPad) please support Smart Apps for Kids by using this handy link:

As you know, we're a multinational set of folks here at Smart Apps for Kids, so I decided to see if I could find sports from all the fantastic nations represented by our team.
Lisa Ruddy is from Northern Ireland so I was glad to see Irish (or Gaelic) Football featured.
This, I believe, is the sport that gave Americans the crazy idea that football is something you can play with your hands.
Eleanor Holland and Lisa McCormack are our current Australian contingent. If you want to feel what it's like to crave vegemite, throw shrimps on barbies and avoid deadly animals at every turn then take a look with your child at Australian football, which is COMPLETELY different from Irish Football because the ball's a different shape and you're not allowed to wear shirts with sleeves.
As a Canadian I was obviously proud and relieved to see that Canada's national sport, lacrosse, is included in the app.
You all thought I was going to say hockey didn't you? Well, the National Sports of Canada Act of 1994 did make hockey our national winter sport but our national summer sport is lacrosse. Yes, we have legislation to determine our national sport - it's just the way we crazy northerners roll.
With four team members including the site's owner and founder, as well as the largest share of our readership, the United States is the biggest player on Smart Apps for Kids.
Would ABC Play include an activity that all of us associate with this sporting powerhouse of a nation? Something that was invented in the home of the brave and the land of the free? Yes! Hacky Sack is in the app!
These apps are called 'ABC' apps because they show at least one thing from every letter of the alphabet. So I will leave you with the activity known as 'Zorbing' - something involving people rolling down hills in a ball, like a hamster.
I cannot wait to show Oliver this video, he's going to find it hilarious!

ABOUT THE VIDEOS
ABC Play needs an internet connection to play videos. A wi-fi connection is recommended. Some videos may be removed from youTube but we try to replace them regularly.
