Lisa R. proofread this and said in her delicate way "you need a shorter explanation!" So here it is: I looked at the top 100 free educational apps list and took out the ones with in-app purchases or for teachers/classrooms/adults!
Here's the longer explanation in case you are interested.
One of the most frustrating things about browsing the App Store's "free" section is that many of listed apps have in-app purchases, so the app isn't really free. It's a free trial with more content available if you want to pay.
Free trials with in-apps absolutely have a place in Appworld, but when people think "free," they think TOTALLY free, not a little bit free.
They are all listed together because if they were separated everyone would just go to the totally free section. The category also includes teenager/adult/teacher/classroom educational app, so if you're looking for kids' apps the process is even more time-consuming.
So here, we've taken the top educational apps rankings, taken out the ones that aren't totally free and the ones that aren't for younger kids and delivered a Top 10 "I'm just looking for free educational apps for my kids to play!" list.
