(ConversationBuilder Teen is on today's Featured Free and Discounted post. Don't miss it!)
This Good Free App isn't new, but it's been recently redesigned and it's now just simply amazing! It's designed for kids with autism, and presents concepts in a format consistent with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The structured approach starts with a preference assessment (to guide the rewards for each child!) and then gradually increases the difficulty of the task with successful responses.
This app is great for preschoolers and even older students who need support in building matching, sorting, and receptive skills. Click now to download!

Currently, Camp Discovery has one area, focusing on learning about objects. There are four different tasks: matching identical objects, matching similar objects, sorting and receptive tasks. There are nine additional areas that say they are coming soon, including locations, numbers, actions and letters.
When it has these additional areas, it will be fall-on-the-floor amazing. But even with just the one unit, this is an app that MUST be downloaded for those working with students with autism. The interface is so smooth and thought-out, it's likely to become a favorite.

Teach your child new skills with Autism Learning Games: Camp Discovery! Developed by the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), Camp Discovery houses a growing suite of learning games that appeal to children and are approved by parents, teachers and professionals. Based on CARD’s renowned curriculum, Camp Discovery creates fun learning opportunities for children with autism. Camp Discovery is an excellent learning tool for children ages 2 and up.
EVIDENCE BASED
The teaching procedures used in Camp Discovery were designed by experts in the field of autism and are grounded on evidence-based behavioral principles, including reinforcement and prompting. For correct responses, players receive both visual and auditory reinforcement to keep them motivated and engaged. If a player responds incorrectly, our unique prompting system guides the player to answer correctly. Although Camp Discovery was designed for children with autism, all children can benefit from the carefully developed teaching procedures.
UNIQUE FEATURES
Many unique features set Camp Discovery apart from other children’s learning apps.
- Every Learning Trial Begins with a Preference Assessment
Rewards for correct responses are personalized for each player based on the results of the preference assessment. Keeping with best teaching practices, the preference assessment is administered regularly to keep the game reinforcing as each player is unique and his or her preferences will change.
- Fun Mini Games Motivate Learning
Mini games serve as both a break from learning and an exciting reward for completing rounds.
- Track Your Child’s Progress
Camp Discovery allows you to track your child’s progress across games and generates graphs to show you how much your child is learning.
- Parents Are in Control
Multiple settings can be manipulated by parents in order to personalize the player’s learning experience.
SIMPLE USER INTERFACE
Camp Discovery was developed for the iPad, and the interface was designed for easy use by the player. The games are voice narrated, and responses require dragging and dropping or touching flashcards to be successful.
