In the United States, we celebrate Presidents' Day on February 17th. It's a federal holiday which means no school for most kids, so get those iDevices loaded up with some presidential knowledge to learn. Teachers can enjoy many of these apps at school, too.

This app does just what it says — it generates presidental facts. I learned that Herbert Hoover could speak Chinese, Gerald Ford was once a model, and William Howard Taft was also the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court from 1921-1930.

This is the lite version, but there still seemed to be plenty of presidential quizzing.

This app isn't spectacular, but I was feeling bad for poor left-out George Washington. This one features quotes by the first president himself. It's somewhat hard to read (due to font color choice in the app), but with help it might be great for writing prompts, too.
