Tayasui Sketches is an elegant drawing app for older children (and certainly adults too). I couldn't draw a sketch or a cartoon to save myself, but this app makes me want to try, the interface is so zen-like! From the people who made Drawing with Carl (which if you don't have, you should, it's hilarious fun), this one is for making more sophisticated lines. The brushes are vividly realistic, and there is no lagtime when you're drawing. Simply beautiful.
There is a pro version available for $1.99, but the free version has more than enough brushes and options available to make it absolutely worth recommending!
Bottom Line: a website providing videos, interactive books,
live classes, games, and more for kids ages 6-12. Lots of free content and, for
a reasonable cost, get access to very cool online classes for drawing. Plus,
there’s an animated cow teaching how to draw cartoon moustaches. Does it get
any better?

Ink blot monsters, great for older kids, teenagers (and their parents)!
Make your own monsters in the style of Stefan G. Bucher's DAILY MONSTER®. Blow the ink with your finger, add eyes and mouths and arms and pants (monsters need pants), and send them to your friends.
Free today only (normally $1.99), so get in quick!
I was perusing the educational app rankings in the iTunes App Store, as I am often wont to do, and noticed that an app released a week ago has already jumped into the top spot for free education apps (and is No. 20 among all free apps.)
Bottom line: an amusing drawing/coloring program with
easy to use features for preschoolers. Broad appeal due to the presence of that cheeky monkey
and the Man with the Yellow Hat. Gets high marks for lack of ads, in-app purchases and social media links.
Bottom line: Tremendously fun comic strip creator with unlimited creative possibilities for ages 9+. Zoo-Wee-Mama for the masses with a Free Lite version too!
Bottom Line: Terrific and unique app that simulates sharing through six mini-games. Needs to be played with an adult, however, to get the full four-and-half stars worth.
