Good Free App of the Day: Little Learners Play and Learn!

Many of you will recognize the Little Learners brand (check out the logo) and this app is a nice debut, with two terrific books for toddlers and preschoolers: Let's Eat and Let's Play. Beautiful graphics with nice, simple interactivity.

There is an in-app purchase for additional material for $1.99, but it can't be accessed unless the child can read and do math. The two books included are more than enough to recommend the download, even if you don't get the in-app.

 

FREE APP ALERT: Sesame Street's Another Monster at the End of This Book!

The terrific Sesame Street app Another Monster at the End of This Book ($3.99) has just gone free!

It now has a sponsor video when the app loads, but it's just like one of the sponsor videos that plays before the beginning of the actual show, so kid-friendly. There is a $3.99 in-app to get rid of the sponosor but my kids will have to live with the 10-second delay.

 

iMommy: Review

 

 Bottom line: lets your little one “play mom,” taking care of the baby by finding things that upset him or make him happy. Will probably appeal most to kids ages 3-6. Free lite version available.  

Coco Dress Up 3D - Review

 

 

Bottom Line: Extensive dress-up-a-doll app with 400+ clothing and accessory options, including a dinosaur costume! It makes creative use of technology, and it’s even free to try (with in-app purchases). There are social media and external links, however, and the full set of items costs $4.99.

Count Up to Ten - Review

 

 

Bottom line: a sweet little app to help very early learners master numbers 1 through 10. Uses Montessori teaching methods and contains three levels of difficulty for ages 3-6. Free lite version available.

Superbook Kid’s Bible, Video and Games - Review

 

 

Bottom Line: If you want your children to read the Bible every day, this app is perfect—free, engaging, and makes creative use of the iPad’s features.
