Bottom Line: This app is good for educators (including homeschoolers) to supplement a multiplication curriculum. It’s not a game format, and there is a lot of text that isn't read aloud by the iPad. But the information presented is solid and provides a nice alternative to flashcard-style apps for multiplication practice. At $1.99, the price is reasonable given the amount of data collection available.
I thought I was downloading just another cutesy counting game with bright bouncing balls, but Number Bounce turned out to be more than that. Yes, there are bright bouncing balls involved, but rather than just simple counting, they have incorporated actual math. You know . . . addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc. I’ve had a ball (pun intended) playing this with my son, who is turning out to be as much of a math nut as I am.
Bottom Line: TeachMe: Third Grade, the final app in 24x7digital's TeachMe series, continues with the same format as TeachMe: Second Grade, broadening a bit into grade-appropriate skills. While it is still a consistently solid app with tons of content, I would have liked to see the presentation and functionality of it grow along with the user as much as the skills did.
Bottom Line: A wonderful app focusing on important 1st grade skills, such as addition, subtraction, spelling and Dolch sight words. Provides three different types of incentives to keep a child engaged. Although a lot of practice is included, addition and subtraction concepts need to have more practice with the teen numbers, which is a strong focus in 1st grade.
