When Deanne reviewed Pixel and Parker, she thought it was a near top pick app. Since then, it's been updated and improved, and, even better, made FREE! This fun app is now completely free, and one that is perfect for young kids to read and enjoy! Plus, it's hard not to love an app that features a little boy who is genuinely excited to get a new shirt as a present. This one is definitely a must-download for parents of kids up to about six years old, as well as teachers of preschool and early elementary students.
This story features a board game where Parker himself is the pawn, and he must get to the end to find Pixel. This creative take on an app book makes Parker and Pixel engaging and desireable to young kids. I know I wanted to keep playing to find out what might happen, and young students are always eagerly waiting for more.
Pixel and Parker makes a great app for working on vocabulary, answering questions and making predictions, all important literacy skill. My speech-language therapy students definitely want to keep playing.
